Korean dramas, also known as K-dramas in non-standard language, are Korean language television series spanning about 16 to 20 episodes, made in South Korea. Korean culture has been extensively influential lately because of the greatest artists we get from South Korea in all aspects and the examples? I don’t think you need any examples because you already know – the one and only great K-pop boyband BTS, followed by many other K-pop groups and solo artists.

You might be wondering what makes the Korean culture so dominant and authoritative. The answer to this question is quite straightforward. The decency in the plot is the foremost quality, accompanied by the dazzling and magnificent cast, along with their greatest fashion skills. Dramas are usually centered on old-school romance, but they focus mainly on romance rather than bedroom scenes and making out in public like western culture in movies. The other genres in Korean series are action, historical, mental illness, school, legal, and even horror comedies. The leading theme of these series is friendship, valuing love, mortality, traditional culture, family, even individual possessions, which eventually lead to personal growth. They are mostly light-hearted and emotional, surrounded by surreal fantasy. The subjects are quite relatable to the viewers, so there is a feeling of connection. The connection is so close from the storyline that people wait for the episodes to come.

The story always follows a young, charming, and rich male protagonist, searching for his “one true love,” getting in touch with the leading female actress who is beautiful but comparatively less wealthy. With this storyline, every ordinary girl dreams of a much higher standard in the love of her life. And with the feeling of attachment, every girl and every boy can feel the sentiments and feelings of the male lead; they can literally put themselves in their shoes to experience all that heavenly ecstasy, excitement, grief, responsiveness, agitation, and disturbance created by our typical on-screen couple, we can picture ourselves in them. Although this is not happening in real life, it still gives us hope.

The soundtracks, though, are euphonious. Even for international fans, songs are indeed a great effort yet an easy step towards learning the Korean language. Learning the language from the Korean series has become a trend. People started conversing in Korean as if it was the only thing they belonged to. But, let’s not forget about the mouth-watering food. The food is certainly so delicious and has more fans than the actors. A romantic dinner night is never complete with a bowl full of ramyeon and soju as the drink. Tteokbokki (a rice cake dish), Korean fried chicken, dumplings, kimchi jjigae, and many more divine dishes are also enjoyed. There is nothing in comparison to the craving you get when you see the people eating these wonderful dishes on your television.

You might have a question in your mind: where to watch this awesome combination of fashion, charming young people, music, plot, and food? The popularity of Korean series arose with the platforms to watch them. In other words, you watch the series because you can.
