The original TPB site has been blocked by many internet service providers but it’s only the site’s URL that has been blocked. There’s very little to stop the same data being available under a different URL. And that’s where Piratebay proxy sites come in.
Pirate proxy sites are simply copies of the main site, but under a different web address. It can be as simple as changing the domain name from .com to .co.uk, or .co.au, and so on.
However, internet service providers who got wise to this began to close access to these sites too. And yet because nobody was about to stop wanting to use the Pirate Bay, people discovered that by using proxy sites, they were still able to get the content they love.
