Expect to see more mixed reality apps in the SLOTXO future. At least for the Oculus Quest 2. WinFuture notes that Oculus has released a Passthrough API Experimental

toolkit that will make it easier to integrate VR with the real-world view of the Quest 2’s camera. You can project an image on a flat surface.

Create a composite layer floating in space. and even use image formats You can give yourself a virtual screen to use with your real-world keyboard. Or turn your home into a haunting nightmare.

Privacy shouldn’t be an issue. Oculus claims the API only processes footage from raw cameras on the device. And apps won’t be able to access, store, or view images of the world around you.
