At least, when Washington made a trade for the no. 2 pick, they were the chance to acquire a quarterback prospect that everyone believed would be successful.

None of the players in this class can be described as a “superior” player. The Rams claim to be looking for the services of a quarterback but pretty everyone agrees that a quarterback isn’t the top player in this year’s draft or even within the top three. If you’re picking a quarterback, nobody truly stands out from the rest: Draft experts are fairly evenly divided about what the top quarterback of the year will be Wentz or Jared Goff.

There was debate over Griffin or Andrew Luck in 2012. and there was also debate about Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota last year, however this differs. They were highly-rated prospects fighting to be considered the top. There are a lot of promising prospects, but we aren’t sure which has the best potential to become great.

The week before, Bill Barnwell of ESPN broke down how in the lottery-like draft “the most effective strategy is to buy the most tickets.” The RG3 trade was perhaps the best illustration of that in the past, but winners from that deal seem to be unwilling to learn that fact. Perhaps it will work but the Rams should be more aware.

The Chargers could make a deal for Philip Rivers, but they’d probably make the mistake of a trade too.

LaDainian Tomlinson believes that the Chargers should trade Philip Rivers. He believes the Chargers are in rebuilding mode and should trade Philip Rivers instead of ruin the rest of his career. Do you think that’s realistic?

It’s logical on the surface. The Chargers have been, yet again an absolute mess, losing three games in a gruelling manner by blowing their fourth-quarter lead. Rivers isn’t a part of the problem. He’s completed 68 percent of the passes he throws, 7.8 yards per passand has 1.110 yards. seven touchdowns and just one interception.
